Breathe, relax & let go
Course for pregnant women
This course is open to pregnant women and is taught by various midwives from the team "die Stadthebammen".
Breathing can be used consciously during labor to help you cope with contractions and relax during the breaks. It is one of the most important tools for managing labor positively.
This session is about observing your breath and practicing appropriate breathing. It's meant to be a time out for you to consciously perceive your body, calm down, and practice letting go. It's also a wonderful opportunity to connect deeply with your baby.
We recommend attending this session several times; it is suitable at any time during pregnancy.
Time: every Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30
Course location: Dr. Brus's practice, 1080 Vienna
Cost: 20€ per unit
Postnatal gymnastics and
pelvic floor training
A woman's body undergoes major changes during pregnancy and after childbirth. Effective postnatal recovery is essential to prevent long-term complications. The focus is on gradually strengthening the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, so this course is a closed group with six sessions. There's usually some time before or after the course to discuss current concerns or exchange ideas with the group.
It is recommended that participants attend the course without their baby, allowing them to focus entirely on themselves and their bodies. If it's necessary to bring the baby, that's also no problem.
Ideally, the course should begin 6 weeks after birth (after both vaginal and cesarean sections).
The course is led by midwife Gloria Kerbl.
Time: Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:30
Course location: Dr. Brus's practice, 1080 Vienna
Cost: 180€ for 6 units of 1.5 hours each
Baby massage
Baby massage is primarily about satisfying a baby's need for physical contact and touch. Parents quickly gain confidence in interacting with their child. Metabolism, sensory perception, and the immune system are stimulated. Furthermore, massage can also help prevent or relieve painful gas and colic.
We meet four times in small groups and massage the babies using the Leboyer baby massage technique, which originated in India. The massage takes place in a well-heated room so that the babies can be massaged naked with oil. There is usually some time before or after the massage to discuss current concerns or to exchange ideas with the group.
Ideally, the course should start between the sixth week and fifth month of your child's life. Ideal herbal oils for the massage will be provided, and you will also receive a script describing the massage techniques.
Time: Wednesdays from 11:15 to 12:15
Course location: Hebammenzentrum, 1090 Vienna
Cost: 120€ for 4 units of 1 hour each
